NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management

The NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management is a qualification for those with fire safety responsibilities in the workplace. A fire can have a devastating effect on an organisation; 77% of businesses experiencing a major fire never fully recover.  The updated duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 place the responsibility on employers and those in control of premises to ensure that they assess fire risks and take steps to minimise those risks and safeguard people in the event of a fire. The NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate is designed to equip holders to help their organisations to meet these legal duties. This requirement to meet legislation makes this an ideal qualification to bring to an employer.

Is the qualification recognised?

The qualification meets the academic requirements to apply for Technician membership (Tech IOSH) of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), and Associate membership (AIIRSM) of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM).

The NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management is accredited at Level 3 within the National Qualification Framework (NQF) by the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual) in England, the Department for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills (DCELLS) in Wales and the Council for Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) in Northern Ireland.
